The EMS-126/129 is an update to the ever-popular EMS-122/122w fullrange loudspeaker. The EMS-126/129 is a compact, powerful fullrange loudspeaker intended for a wide variety of applications – both mobile and permanently installed. The two loudspeakers are identical in every respect except for coverage angle – and whilst the internal components have been updated, they are physically identical to the original EMS-122/122w and are fully compatible with the same flying hardware. EMS-115, 215 or 118 subwoofers can be added to extend system response where required. The EMS-126/129 is completely passive yet outperforms many bi-amplified or processed designs.
Updated with new components and cabinet structure, the enclosure contains a 12¡± (305mm) neodymium LF drive unit, linked via the internal passive crossover network to a 3¡± (76mm) diaphragm, 1.4¡± (36mm) exit HF compression drive unit. The HF drive unit is coupled to a constant-directivity waveguide, which produces a 60¡Æ x 40¡Æ dispersion pattern (EMS-126) or 90¡Æ x 60¡Æ (EMS-129). Both waveguides are rotatable for maximum flexibility, and along with the multi-angle enclosure this allows stage monitor use if required.
The robust enclosure is constructed from premium multi-laminate Birch plywood and is finished in impact resistant textured paint. The front of the loudspeaker is protected by a rigid steel grille backed with acoustically transparent foam. A flush bar handle, 35mm polemount socket and various threaded fixings are provided in the enclosure for optional rigging hardware. RAL colour matching and weather protection options are also available if required.
The EMS-126/129 requires a single amplifier channel, and should be used with professional power amplifiers capable of delivering 750-1000W RMS into an 8-ohm load. For optimal results, the EM Acoustics AQ-3 or AQ-10 power amplifiers should be used.
